About The Author

I couldn't believe it. There I was, watching the second Lord of the Rings movie at home when I saw Aragorn throw a ladder from one tower to another. He fought off dozens of Orcs as he crawled over rickety rungs to get at the enemy.

That's when I stood up. "Hey! They STOLE that scene from Alexander!" I cried. "Alexander did that in the siege of Tyre. Only he fought the enemy on a tower swaying from a BOAT in rough seas!"

My kids rolled their eyes. They'd heard it all before. But honestly! Alexander did it first. How come we weren't watching a movie showing HIS awesome battle victories?

That's when I knew I had to write this book. See, I get a little intense about the things I like. And I like ancient history. A lot. I'm fascinated by the way people looked, thought, and acted. Some people were just plain funny. Others amazing. Alexander was both.

Before I started writing for kids, I wrote for adults. Business stuff. Booooring. But it helped pay the bills and I won some awards for it too. Today, I live in Atlanta, though I grew up in Miami. My husband and I have a son (age 12) and a daughter (8). I had a blast writing about Alexander. I hope you have as much fun reading Alexander the Great Rocks the World as I had writing it!
